About the Role: Asset Protection Representative

As an Asset Protection Representative, you’ll work directly within the store environment to minimize product loss and keep Asset Protection top of mind for the entire team. You’ll collaborate with store management, local police services, and fellow APRs to investigate everything from everyday theft to more complex organized retail crime (ORC) cases at the provincial or national level.

The position also involves internal investigations, compiling and presenting evidence for court or arbitration, and identifying shrink opportunities through operational compliance reviews. You’ll participate in store audits, community events, and regular management huddles — coaching and mentoring colleagues on Asset Protection policies and procedures along the way. Availability for a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends is required (40-hour work week).

The hiring rate for this Asset Protection Representative role is $21.00 per hour. Responsibilities

Day to day, an Asset Protection Representative at Loblaws is equal parts investigator, coach, and community liaison. These responsibilities span active loss prevention on the floor all the way through to building a culture of Asset Protection awareness across the entire store team.

• Deter, detect, and apprehend individuals involved in theft and fraud within retail locations
• Collaborate with other APRs to investigate provincial or national organized retail crime (ORC) cases
• Liaise regularly with local police services as part of ongoing investigations and community relations
• Conduct internal investigations; compile and present evidence for court or arbitration proceedings
• Identify shrink opportunities within operational core compliance processes
• Build and maintain store partnerships through management meetings and huddles; coach and mentor colleagues on Asset Protection policies and procedures
• Participate in store-level audits and community events
• Work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends within a 40-hour work week

• Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence — required for this role
• Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and Powers of Arrest
• Familiarity with CCTV and/or surveillance systems and working knowledge of Windows-based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanour — you’ll interact with colleagues, management, and law enforcement regularly
• High degree of initiative and integrity to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to stay cool under pressure
