About the Role: Asset Protection Representative

As an Asset Protection Representative, you’ll work closely with store management to minimize product loss and build a culture of awareness throughout the location. Your day-to-day will involve monitoring for theft and fraud, investigating internal cases, and compiling evidence suitable for court or arbitration proceedings. You’ll also take part in store-level audits and community events, making this a role with genuine variety.

Success here requires a solid understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, the Trespass to Property Act, and Powers of Arrest. You’ll be working with CCTV and surveillance systems, collaborating across teams, and maintaining a professional presence that reflects well on the Loblaws brand. Responsibilities

The Asset Protection Representative role covers a wide range of duties — from frontline deterrence to behind-the-scenes investigation and team coaching. Your contributions directly support store operations, protect colleagues and customers, and uphold the company’s commitment to integrity and community safety.

• Deter, detect and apprehend individuals involved in theft and fraud within retail locations
• Collaborate with other APRs to investigate provincial or national organized retail crime (ORC) cases as they arise
• Liaise regularly with the local police service to support investigations and maintain strong community relationships
• Conduct internal investigations, compile evidence, and present findings for court or arbitration proceedings
• Identify shrink opportunities within operational core compliance to reduce product loss
• Build store partnerships through management meetings and huddles; coach and mentor colleagues on Asset Protection policies and procedures
• Participate in store-level audits to assess compliance and flag risk areas
• Engage in community events as a representative of the Loblaws Asset Protection team
• Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, and weekends as part of a 40-hour work week
