Responsibilities
This role spans a wide range of pharmacy functions. Day to day, you’ll be supporting the dispensary team with prescription workflows while also engaging directly with members. Every task is performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, giving you a structured and educational experience across clinical and operational pharmacy duties.
- Answer and triage member phone calls, directing them to appropriate products or services
- Collect patient information and input prescriptions into the pharmacy software system accurately and efficiently
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving stock, counting medications, and applying labels under pharmacist supervision
- Alert the pharmacist when drug interactions or patient concerns arise
- Process register transactions and assist patients at the counter while maintaining prompt, courteous service
- Communicate with patients regarding OTC products and know when to refer to the pharmacist
- Provide prescription counselling based on competency level and provincial regulations under pharmacist direction
- Identify and recruit patients eligible for medication review programs and assist in delivering those services
- Support Health Promotion Clinics by assisting with planning, recruitment, and implementation alongside the pharmacist
- Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy by stocking drugs, supplies, and OTC merchandise
