This position supports the entire front-end checkout operation at the Costco Saskatoon warehouse. Responsibilities

The Cashier Assistant role is all about keeping the checkout experience efficient and pleasant for every member. From the moment a member arrives at the register to the moment they leave the lot, you play a direct part in making that journey seamless and positive.

• Greet members warmly, help load orders onto the conveyor belt, and determine packing preferences to ensure satisfaction
• Pack member orders into boxes and load them onto carts or flatbeds while checking packaging for tampering
• Run for items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested by Cashiers to keep lines moving
• Transfer items not on the belt to a separate cart or flatbed as Cashiers scan them, following departmental procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of the register and front-end area, cleaning spills and trip hazards immediately
• Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking lot using proper equipment, keeping the lot clear of debris
• Assist with set-up and closing duties, including returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning
• Operate the mechanical trash compactor and cardboard bailer as required
• Support the Cashier during various promotions and assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed

Requirements / Skills
