Responsibilities

Working in Costco’s optical department means wearing many hats throughout your shift. From member-facing consultations to behind-the-scenes stocking and cleaning, you’ll play an important role in keeping the department running smoothly and ensuring members leave satisfied with their purchase.

  • Assist members in selecting eyeglass frames and lens options, providing prompt and courteous service
  • Process orders and payments accurately, including cash, cheques, credit, and debit transactions following proper cash-handling procedures
  • Fit and adjust eyeglasses using a frame warmer and manual bending techniques, under the supervision of a licensed Optician and where permitted by provincial law
  • Order equipment, merchandise, and supplies by entering requests into the computer system
  • Stock merchandise and supplies while maintaining department standards for production, record keeping, merchandising, and product storage
  • Clean the department through spraying, wiping, and mopping; empty trash and operate trash compactor and cardboard bailer
  • Follow all safety and security procedures at all times
  • Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required

Requirements / Skills
