About the Role: Pharmacy Student

Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Student at Costco Kitchener, your day-to-day tasks span both clinical support and patient-facing service. Working under direct pharmacist supervision, you’ll contribute to prescription processing, patient education, and broader pharmacy initiatives that make a real difference in member health outcomes.

  • Answer and triage member phone calls and direct members to product locations
  • Collect patient information and input prescriptions into the pharmacy software system accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving stock bottles, counting medications, and labelling — always following safety and security procedures
  • Alert the pharmacist when necessary, such as in cases of drug interactions or patient concerns
  • Assist patients at the counter, retrieve prescriptions, and process register transactions courteously and promptly
  • Communicate with patients regarding OTC products and refer to the pharmacist when appropriate
  • Provide prescription counselling under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist, in accordance with competency level and provincial regulation
  • Identify and recruit patients eligible for the medication review program and assist with medication review services
  • Support Health Promotion Clinics by working with the pharmacist to develop and implement recruitment plans
  • Stock drugs, supplies, and OTC merchandise and help keep the pharmacy clean and organized
