Responsibilities

The Food Service Assistant role at Costco’s Food Court covers everything from food prep to member service and cleanliness. Each shift requires staying organized, moving efficiently, and keeping quality consistent across all tasks.

  • Prepare hot food items including rolling and shaping dough, adding toppings, baking pizzas, slicing, and placing baked goods in warmers
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, steamers for hot dogs and buns, and various dispensing machines for frozen yogurt, lattes, and smoothies
  • Process member transactions by ringing up sales, collecting payment, making change, and taking pizza orders both in person and over the phone
  • Assemble and present orders to members accurately and promptly, following department production and cash handling procedures
  • Maintain the dining and self-serve areas by bussing and sanitizing tables, sweeping and mopping floors, restocking the condiment table, and emptying trash
  • Clean and sanitize all machines, work surfaces, floors, pans, utensils, and counters throughout the shift
  • Pull and stock supplies from the warehouse, including restocking shelves, the cooler, and the freezer, and staging ingredients at the prep area
  • Follow health codes including sanitation standards, proper product temperatures, rotation, and expiration date checks
  • Assist in other areas of the warehouse when needed

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for candidates who are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy food service environment. No prior experience is required — what matters most is a willingness to learn and a strong commitment to member service and food safety.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required by your first day in the position

  • Physical capability to handle tasks such as stocking large volumes of inventory to shelves, coolers, and freezers
