Responsibilities
The Meat Cutter role at Costco Montréal covers a wide range of daily tasks that keep the meat department running smoothly and safely. From equipment inspection at the start of the day to sanitizing workstations throughout the shift, every responsibility contributes to product quality, member satisfaction, and food safety compliance.
- Inspect and reassemble equipment sanitized from the previous night and assess daily production needs
- Receive, rotate, and scan meat inventory in the cooler; rework and destroy product as required
- Transport meat cases weighing up to 80 lbs from the cooler to the cutting or preparation area
- Cut and trim meat to Costco specifications using band saws, knives, and automatic slicers
- Operate the meat grinder, check fat content of each batch, and follow production standards for quality and consistency
- Operate the tenderizing machine and roast tyer following all safety and security procedures
- Transfer cut and ground meat to styro trays, load onto racks for wrappers, and assist with wrapping
- Stock the meat case according to the Meat Manager’s plan for product presentation and merchandising
- Clean and sanitize the work area throughout the day, following all SSOPs and health code requirements
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools
- Set up and execute seafood road shows as outlined in the Costco Seafood Road Show manual
- Provide prompt and courteous service to Costco members at all times
Requirements / Skills
