About the Role: Meat Assistant

Responsibilities

The Meat Assistant role involves a variety of hands-on tasks that keep the meat department running smoothly and in compliance with food safety regulations. Each duty plays a role in ensuring members receive fresh, properly labelled, and well-presented products.

  • Set and operate the labeller according to product type and price, printing and applying labels accurately
  • Stock display cases by placing wrapped and labelled meat on carts and arranging them through sliding windows or floor racks
  • Operate the meat grinder, dump product into the machine, and check fat content of each batch for quality and consistency
  • Clean and sanitize the work area throughout the day to maintain health code compliance and proper temperatures
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment as required
  • Provide courteous member service and assist in other warehouse departments as necessary
