About the Role: Package Handler – Local Sort

As a Package Handler on the Local Sort, your core function is to keep packages moving accurately and efficiently through the UPS facility. You’ll be responsible for loading and unloading UPS packages into trailers or package cars, scanning and sorting shipments, and ensuring items are stocked and staged correctly. Heavy machinery may be used to support these tasks depending on operational needs.

Working in a fast-paced warehouse setting, you’ll be expected to learn and consistently apply UPS package handling methods. Safety, accuracy, and speed all matter in this role — and the ability to adapt when volumes shift is key. The shift runs from 16:30 to 19:30, Monday to Friday, though hours can vary based on daily package volumes and you must be flexible to work additional hours when required.

Requirements / Skills

• Physical fitness: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) regularly throughout a shift
• Postal code knowledge: Ability to read and memorize postal codes for sorting accuracy
• Schedule flexibility: Available to work up to 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, with the ability to work additional hours when required
• Reliability: Consistent attendance during the afternoon sort window (16:30–19:30)
• Warehouse experience: Preferred but not required
