About the Role: Letter Carrier / Delivery Agent
This is a temporary, on-call position that serves as a genuine entry point into a long-term career with Canada Post. You’ll be responsible for sorting and preparing deliveries at the depot each morning, loading a Canada Post postal vehicle, and spending most of your shift outdoors delivering mail and packages along your assigned route — either on foot or by vehicle.

Responsibilities
A typical day as a Letter Carrier blends depot work with outdoor route delivery. You’ll be handling mail and parcels from start to finish — preparing them for dispatch in the morning and ensuring they reach the right destinations throughout the day. - Sort and prepare the day’s mail and packages at the depot each morning before heading out on your route
- Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle safely and in accordance with road regulations
- Deliver mail and parcels by foot or vehicle to residential and business customers along your assigned route
- Return to the depot at the end of your route to unload incoming mail and packages for future delivery
- Maintain professionalism and a customer-friendly attitude as a visible representative of Canada Post in the community
Requirements / Skills
Canada Post is looking for dependable, physically capable individuals who are comfortable working independently in outdoor conditions year-round. The ideal candidate holds a valid driver’s licence, can handle packages safely, and is available to be called in on short notice. Experience in customer service or delivery work is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record for at least 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
- Physical ability to lift items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout your shift
- Availability to work on-call with flexibility to respond to scheduling needs
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions throughout the year
- English language proficiency (read, write, and speak); French is also accepted
- Customer service experience and/or prior delivery or driving experience are considered strong assets
