About the Role: Inventory Control Supervisor

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the non-exempt Inventory Control Team to ensure accurate inventory records are maintained in line with client service level agreements. You’ll work alongside site leadership to assess inventory discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous process improvement.

Beyond managing inventory systems, this role requires strong attention to compliance, safety, and associate development. You’ll be expected to uphold company policies, support audits, and foster a work environment that is safe, fair, and productive for all team members.

Responsibilities

As Inventory Control Supervisor, your daily work will span team leadership, system management, and compliance reporting. These responsibilities are central to ensuring that DHL Supply Chain meets its client commitments and maintains the highest standards of inventory accuracy and operational excellence.

  • Monitor and report customer inventory control accuracy and shrink against contractual service level agreements to site leadership
  • Oversee inventory processes to ensure care, custody, and control of customer inventory — including accuracy to floor and customer book
  • Maximize utilization of information technology systems to support efficient and accurate inventory management
  • Provide documentation to customers, financial statement auditors, or regulatory auditors in support of compliance requirements
  • Maintain a safe, secure, clean, and fair work environment for all associates
  • Conduct performance reviews, individual development plans, and succession planning for team members
  • Communicate and enforce company policies at appropriate levels within the team
  • Ensure associates have the proper training and access to the tools required to perform their roles effectively

Requirements / Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience in inventory control, logistics, or a related field (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience in the logistics industry with team supervision responsibilities (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in inventory control or a related discipline (required)
  • Knowledge of WMS systems such as JDA, Manhattan WMS, DMPLUS, SAP, or similar platforms (required)
  • Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated experience supervising non-exempt teams
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess inventory inaccuracies and recommend corrective action
