About the Role: Forklift Operator

As a Forklift Operator at DHL in North York, you’ll be responsible for the physical movement and staging of products throughout the facility. You’ll operate a forklift, clamp truck, or other powered equipment for the majority of your shift — approximately 80% of the time — while also pulling, preparing, and verifying product for outbound shipment. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of DHL’s warehouse and distribution operations. Your daily responsibilities keep inventory moving accurately and safely — from loading docks to staging areas. Here’s what the work looks like:

• Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other powered equipment to load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials for approximately 80% of each shift

• Comply with all OSHA and MSDS standards to ensure a safe working environment
• Verify load accuracy by checking load counts, stability, and product damage, reporting any variances as needed
• Monitor and change equipment batteries or LP tanks as required to keep operations running continuously
• Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
• Assist with physical inventory counts and complete daily equipment inspections

Requirements / Skills

DHL is seeking candidates with practical warehouse and forklift experience who take safety seriously and can work efficiently within a team setting. Familiarity with inventory processes and a strong sense of responsibility for equipment care will set you apart.

• Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift training program within the first 30 days of employment (required)
• Six months of forklift operation experience in a warehouse or similar setting
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Six months of general warehouse experience (preferred)
• Ability to comply with OSHA and MSDS standards and maintain a safe work environment
• Strong attention to detail for verifying load accuracy, checking product damage, and recording inventory data
