Responsibilities
Day-to-day work as a Food Counter Attendant at Tim Hortons covers everything from customer-facing service to behind-the-scenes kitchen tasks. You’ll be expected to keep pace with a busy restaurant environment while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer care.
- Serve customers at the counter, take orders accurately, and operate an electronic cash register
- Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items; portion and wrap foods for takeout and in-store service
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, appliances, cupboards, storage areas, dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units
- Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware; wash and scour pots and pans by hand
- Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas; stock refrigerators and salad bars
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
- Handle and store cleaning products safely; remove kitchen garbage and trash
- Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit; use manual and electrical appliances to clean, slice, and trim foodstuffs
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors; clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs
- Keep records of quantities of food used to support kitchen operations
