Food & Consumables Team Associate – Walmart – Winnipeg, Manitoba

Walmart’s Supercenter at 35 Lakewood Blvd in Winnipeg, Manitoba is looking for a Food & Consumables Team Associate to join their store team. This is a regular/permanent, hourly position with flexible scheduling across mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights — making it a solid fit for candidates who value consistency and variety in their workweek.

In this role, you’ll be on the floor keeping the food and consumables department organized, well-stocked, and shoppable. About the Role: Food & Consumables Team Associate

As a Food & Consumables Team Associate, your primary focus is maintaining the department so that customers can find what they need quickly and confidently. You’ll zone product shelves, tables, and bunkers to keep everything organized and in its proper location. You’ll also rotate stock regularly, check for expired products, and ensure merchandise is correctly signed and priced throughout your shift.

A key part of this role involves following food safety and cold chain compliance standards — including thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, proper food handling, and monitoring of sell-by and expiration dates. You’ll also follow established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, and labelling, contributing to a department that runs smoothly and safely every day.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $16.15 per hour. Responsibilities

Day-to-day, a Food & Consumables Team Associate keeps the department running at a high standard by managing product presentation, stock accuracy, and food safety compliance. These responsibilities directly affect the shopping experience and the safety of Walmart customers.

• Zone the department to ensure product shelves, tables, and bunkers are organized and products are in the correct location
• Rotate stock and check for expired products to maintain freshness and safety standards
• Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced throughout the department
• Adhere to cold chain compliance standards, including thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling protocols, product rotation, and monitoring of sell-by and expiration dates
• Follow proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labels
• Provide exemplary customer service in line with Walmart’s basic beliefs and values
