FT Relief Pharmacist – Walmart – Winnipeg, MB

Walmart Canada is looking for a Full-Time Relief Pharmacist to join their pharmacy team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This is a Regular/Permanent position that plays a key supporting role in pharmacy operations across multiple store locations, working alongside Pharmacy Managers and Staff Pharmacists to deliver safe, accurate, and patient-centred pharmaceutical care.

As a Relief Pharmacist, you’ll be travelling to various Walmart pharmacy locations on a schedule coordinated by the Relief program, giving you a dynamic and varied work environment. You’ll be responsible for everything from filling and verifying prescriptions to counselling patients and delivering eligible pharmacy services like medication reviews and injections.

About the Role: FT Relief Pharmacist

The Relief Pharmacist steps in to support pharmacy operations wherever needed across Winnipeg and surrounding areas. Day-to-day, you’ll be accepting and processing prescriptions, ensuring accurate dispensing through established workflow models, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and privacy. You’ll also be expected to counsel patients on their medications and ensure they receive all the pharmaceutical services they’re entitled to.

This role demands a high level of professionalism, as you’ll be collaborating with Professional Services District Managers, health care providers within the store — including clinics and Vision Centres — and community stakeholders. Compliance with OBW/SOP regulations and provincial regulatory requirements is essential at all times.

The pay range for this position is $41.60 – $55.90 per hour, with the actual rate determined based on relevant experience. Responsibilities

As a Relief Pharmacist at Walmart Canada, you’ll be central to maintaining safe and efficient pharmacy operations across multiple locations. • Accept and process prescriptions and refill requests from customers, doctors, and hospitals
• Dispense medications accurately, efficiently, and safely following established workflow models
• Counsel patients on all sold pharmaceutical products to support informed health decisions
• Deliver eligible patient services including medication reviews and injections
• Ensure proper storage of all pharmaceutical products in accordance with regulations
• Maintain patient privacy at all times and comply with provincial regulatory body requirements
• Execute procedures as per OBWs/SOPs and Relief Pharmacist program regulations
• Travel to various store locations based on schedules set by the Relief program coordinator
• Build collaborative relationships with health care providers, clinics, Vision Centres, and community partners
• Operate all pharmacy equipment including registers and computer dispensing systems
• Support the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacists across all aspects of pharmacy operations

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate for this Relief Pharmacist role holds a valid Pharmacist Licence and is comfortable adapting to different store environments with minimal ramp-up time. Walmart values pharmacists who are patient-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while following established protocols.

• Valid Pharmacist Licence — required to practise in the province of Manitoba
• Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) — secondary permit, applicable for Alberta locations (optional)
• Strong patient communication skills to counsel effectively and build trust with diverse patients
• Ability to travel to various pharmacy locations as required by the Relief program schedule
• Knowledge of OBW/SOP compliance and provincial pharmacy regulations
• Proficiency with pharmacy systems and equipment including dispensing software and POS registers
• Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary health care teams within the store environment
