About the Role: Asset Protection Associate

As an Asset Protection Associate, your core focus is on creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and professional store environment for customers, associates, visitors, and vendors. You’ll conduct daily patrols, verify that security features are functioning properly, and respond to incidents as they arise. This position plays a direct role in reducing shrink, preventing financial and physical loss, and supporting store profitability.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $17.75 per hour. Responsibilities

Day to day, this role covers a wide scope — from walking the store floor on security patrols to supporting formal investigations and responding to emergencies. Each responsibility contributes directly to protecting people, merchandise, and the shopping experience at Walmart.

  • Conduct daily patrols of the store to maintain a safe and secure environment, verifying that doors, showcases, and security features are working properly
  • Investigate incidents of financial and physical shrink, communicating findings to Store Leadership and escalating internal cases to the Market Loss Prevention Manager as required
  • Support investigations related to internal theft, external theft, organized retail crime, and cases assigned through Walmart Canada Global Ethics
  • Carry out external apprehensions when required, in compliance with Company policies and applicable legal standards
  • Support emergency procedures including store evacuations during incidents such as fires or other emergencies
  • Gather and communicate information from multiple sources, clearly explaining issues and findings to leadership and relevant stakeholders
  • Participate in store task team responsibilities as required to support overall operations
  • Complete additional duties as needed to support evolving business needs and Asset Protection priorities
