Delivery Practice Manager, Public Sector Professional Services – Amazon – Vancouver, BC

Based in Vancouver, BC, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an accomplished Delivery Practice Manager (DPM) to lead its Public Sector Professional Services team. About the Role: Delivery Practice Manager, Public Sector

As Delivery Practice Manager, your primary mandate is to enable exceptional customer outcomes through strategic leadership of a consulting delivery team. You’ll collaborate closely with Account Executives, Cloud Architects, and Partner Network (APN) teams to architect and implement innovative solutions for public sector clients. Your day will span team metric reviews, resource allocation negotiations, one-on-one coaching sessions with direct reports, narrative writing, and escalation support — all in service of keeping customer outcomes firmly on track.

A critical requirement for this role is that the successful candidate currently holds or is eligible to obtain a Canadian Federal Government Level II (SECRET) Security Clearance. Given the public sector focus, you’ll bring a strong understanding of government contracting procedures and standards, as well as the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for senior stakeholders.

Benefits and Salary

Amazon offers a competitive base salary range of $141,900 to $236,900 CAD annually for this role in Vancouver. In addition to base pay, Amazon’s total compensation package may include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Responsibilities

The Delivery Practice Manager role at AWS is both people-focused and results-driven. You’ll be accountable for the overall performance of a consulting delivery practice, balancing strategic planning with hands-on team leadership to ensure customers receive outstanding cloud transformation outcomes. Your decisions will directly shape how AWS Professional Services operates and grows in the public sector.

• Build and manage a high-performing team of Delivery Consultants and Engagement Managers, including tailored development plans and performance optimization
• Engage strategically with Director- and C-level executives, governing boards, and key stakeholders to align on priorities and business outcomes
• Scope and author proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs), accurately capturing technical requirements for customer engagements
• Oversee practice P&L, ensuring all engagements are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed customer satisfaction targets
• Drive business development initiatives through thought leadership and collaboration with Amazon Global Sales (AGS) and partner teams
• Architect and implement innovative, forward-looking IT strategies in collaboration with Cloud Architects and the AWS Partner Network
• Provide portfolio guidance and oversight across active engagements, resolving escalations and removing blockers for your team
• Hold the Practice total utilization goal and actively optimize team capacity against customer demand

Requirements / Skills

This role calls for a seasoned technology leader with a proven track record in IT consulting and transformation, strong people management capabilities, and deep familiarity with public sector contracting. Amazon values candidates who can move fluidly between executive boardroom conversations and technical depth discussions with delivery teams.

• 10+ years of IT consulting or management experience, with a focus on IT transformation in customer-facing roles
• 3+ years of direct people management experience leading teams of consultants
• 5+ years of experience with public sector contracting procedures, standards, and specifications
• C-suite engagement experience and strong customer relationship management skills
• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodology experience
• Canadian Federal Government Level II (SECRET) Security Clearance — currently held or eligibility to obtain
• Preferred: Experience with AWS cloud services integration with on-premise technologies (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP)
• Preferred: AWS Associate-level certification or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner designation
