About the Role: Baker

As a Baker at Tim Hortons, you’ll work in a fast-paced bake shop and café environment, preparing a wide variety of baked goods from breads and rolls to desserts, pastries, donuts, and muffins. You’ll also handle special orders, frost and decorate cakes and baked goods, and operate baking machinery — all while keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Beyond hands-on baking, you’ll take on supervisory responsibilities for a small team of 1–2 people, which includes training staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and proper food handling. Maintaining product quality, meeting tight deadlines, and working efficiently under pressure are key parts of this role.

Responsibilities

• Bake mixed dough and batters to produce breads, rolls, donuts, muffins, desserts, and pastries
• Prepare special orders and frost and decorate cakes and baked goods to specification
• Supervise 1–2 baking and kitchen staff members during shifts
• Train staff in food preparation, cooking methods, and safe food handling procedures
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with standards
• Operate baking machinery safely and efficiently
• Organize and maintain inventory, and requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
• Ensure that product quality consistently meets established standards and tight deadlines

Requirements / Skills

• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant baking or food service experience
• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Physical capability: Ability to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks with manual dexterity
• Attention to detail: Ability to distinguish between colours and maintain consistent product quality
• Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills for training and supervising staff
