About the Role: 9046N AM Gateway Sort

As part of the Gateway Sort team, your primary focus will be on package handling and logistics support within a busy warehouse facility. You’ll learn and apply UPS’s standardized package handling methods, ensuring all freight is processed efficiently and accurately. The role may also involve operating heavy machinery to assist with various tasks throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be directly involved in processing and moving packages through the UPS gateway facility. Every task you complete contributes to the reliability of UPS’s delivery network across Canada and beyond.

  • Load and unload UPS packages into trailers and package cars
  • Sort and scan packages accurately to ensure proper routing and delivery
  • Ship and receive freight in compliance with UPS procedures
  • Stock packages appropriately within the facility
  • Learn and execute UPS’s standardized package handling methods
  • Operate heavy machinery as required to complete warehouse tasks
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned in a fast-paced setting

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for candidates who are physically capable, reliable, and detail-oriented. The ideal person for this role is comfortable working in a high-volume warehouse environment and can adapt quickly to shifting priorities throughout the shift.

  • Physical fitness: ability to lift up to 70 lbs. / 32 kgs. consistently throughout the shift
  • Postal code knowledge: ability to read and memorize postal codes for accurate sorting
  • Scheduling flexibility: availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week
  • Warehouse experience: prior experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is preferred but not required
