About the Role: Courier Driver

As a Courier Driver at UPS Nanaimo, your day revolves around making sure packages reach customers safely and on time. You’ll conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections, navigate delivery routes using UPS’s DIAD system, and handle packages ranging from 10 to 70 lbs throughout the day. This is a permanent full-time position running Monday to Friday, with shifts generally between 8:45 AM and 9:00 PM (schedules may vary based on operational needs).

The role demands physical stamina, a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence, and a clean driving record. You’ll be working outdoors in all kinds of BC weather, so comfort with changing conditions is a must. Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of your assigned vehicle to confirm it’s roadworthy and safe before heading out
• Deliver packages to business and residential customers throughout the Nanaimo service area on a daily basis
• Lift, sort, and move parcels weighing between 10 and 70 lbs (32 kg) unassisted throughout the shift
• Load and unload packages from the delivery vehicle during both pick-ups and drop-offs
• Navigate routes using the DIAD system to locate addresses and postal codes accurately and efficiently
• Communicate professionally with customers during deliveries, representing UPS in a courteous and helpful manner

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for dependable, physically capable individuals with a valid driver’s licence and a solid track record behind the wheel. Prior experience in customer service or driving is an asset, though the company does provide full training for all incoming drivers.

• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence — required, no exceptions
• Clean driving record — candidates will undergo background and reference checks
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg) unassisted throughout a full shift
