About the Role: WHS Specialist
As a WHS Specialist, you’ll drive comprehensive safety programs through data-driven strategies, lead daily audits and incident investigations, and implement risk-reduction solutions that prevent injuries before they happen. You’ll deliver engaging safety training to associates and work closely with leadership to embed proactive safety habits across the site.
Beyond the technical aspects, this role is about people. You’ll serve as an advocate for associate wellbeing, build trusted relationships at every level of the organization, and translate safety data into compelling stories that drive real behavioural change. Compliance with OSHA regulations and Amazon’s internal safety standards is central to everything you do.
Benefits and Salary
This position offers an hourly wage of $29.00 to $40.00 CAD, with total compensation that may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Responsibilities

Requirements / Skills
Amazon is looking for candidates who combine a solid foundation in Environmental Health & Safety with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to protecting people. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical environment with variable shifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
- Minimum 1 year of EHS experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related field, OR 6 months performing a safety-related role within Amazon
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional setting
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding security and/or personnel matters
- Physical capability to lift up to 49 lbs and stand/walk for up to 12 hours per shift
- Availability for flexible shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends
Preferred qualifications include: experience in workers’ compensation case management, a Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field, experience leading teams, conducting job hazard analyses, and current First Aid and CPR certifications.
