Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Lead Building Technician (Team Lead – Building Operation and Engineering) to join their Data Centre Engineering Operations team in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within one of the world’s most advanced cloud infrastructure networks, where your expertise in critical facility systems will directly support the reliability of AWS data centres operating around the clock.
In this role, you’ll serve as the central point of contact for all facility operations within a given data centre — overseeing everything from scheduled preventative maintenance to emergency response. About the Role: Team Lead – Building Operation and Engineering
As the Lead Building Technician, you’ll be accountable for ensuring all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems within the data centre are running at peak efficiency. This includes performing planned preventative maintenance, managing day-to-day corrective work, and coordinating emergency interventions when required. You’ll also take ownership of small-to-medium capital projects, from initial conception through to completion, tracking costs and documenting outcomes for future use across other AWS facilities.
You’ll work closely with Engineering Operations technicians and third-party vendors, providing field-level guidance on the operation and troubleshooting of complex equipment. The team operates in a fully bilingual environment, and this position requires the ability to communicate fluently in both French and English given the scope of interactions across Canadian provinces and global Amazon entities. The successful candidate will also need to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance.
