FedEx’s facility operations team in Woodbridge, Ontario is looking for a Switcher-3 to join them on a part-time, seasonal basis. About the Role: Switcher-3

As a Switcher-3 at the FedEx Woodbridge facility, your primary responsibility is the safe and efficient movement of trailers to and from unload and load doors and throughout the yard. Beyond trailer switching, you may also be called upon to assist with loading, unloading, and sorting packages by hand — tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and placing parcels throughout your shift.

Working in a fast-paced facility operations environment, you’ll be expected to follow safe handling practices, including hand-to-surface methods for all package contact. Teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety are central to success in this position. Shifts run Saturday to Wednesday, 3:00 AM to 8:30 AM, so reliability and punctuality matter.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day work as a Switcher-3 at FedEx Woodbridge means keeping the yard moving and supporting the load and unload operations that are critical to on-time delivery. The tasks below reflect what you’ll be doing regularly throughout each shift.

• Move trailers to and from unload/load doors and throughout the yard in a safe and efficient manner
• Load and unload packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, conveyor system carts, and load gratings
• Lift, carry, push, and pull packages on a continuous and repetitive basis during shifts of approximately two to four hours
• Sort packages by scanning labels, reading charts, verifying numbers, and memorizing routing information to direct items to the correct conveyor system
• Apply hand-to-surface methods for all package handling to ensure safety and package integrity
• Operate in a PC/Windows environment as required and complete all mandatory training and recurrence accreditations
• Adapt to varying shift requirements based on operational business needs

• High school diploma or educational equivalent
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
• Six months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator is preferred
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required for candidates located in the province of Quebec
• Physical fitness to lift, carry, push, and pull packages on a repetitive basis throughout each shift
• Ability to complete mandatory testing, training, and annual accreditations as required by FedEx
