About the Role: Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Sourcing, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist will manage procurement activities across Technology and Marketing categories including software (SaaS/Cloud), hardware, telecommunications, managed services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, media, advertising, sponsorships, events, and related professional services. You’ll develop and execute sourcing strategies, run RFx processes, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate pricing, licensing, and commercial terms for medium to high complexity contracts.
The role also requires close collaboration with internal legal counsel and cross-functional stakeholders — navigating compliance reviews covering Security, Privacy, Information Governance, Tax, Risk, and more. You’ll act as the key liaison between internal business units and external suppliers, maintaining ownership of specific supplier and client portfolios while contributing to continuous improvement across the procurement lifecycle.

Canadian Tire offers a broadband salary range of $64,000 – $106,000 CAD annually, with a typical hiring range of $64,000 – $85,000 CAD per year, depending on experience, competencies, and market factors. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be at the centre of Canadian Tire’s procurement operations for some of its most strategic spend categories. Your work will directly impact supplier relationships, cost efficiency, and the quality of contracts that support the broader enterprise — making attention to detail and proactive stakeholder engagement essential every day.
- Lead sourcing and contracting for medium to high complexity Technology and Marketing procurement, including SaaS/Cloud, hardware, managed services, cybersecurity, media, advertising, events, and professional services
- Develop and execute RFx processes including bid solicitation, supplier evaluation, and scoring to identify the best-value partners
- Negotiate pricing, licensing terms, rebates, service levels, and commercial contract structures to maximize value and mitigate risk
- Facilitate contract reviews with internal and external legal counsel, coordinating compliance across Security, Privacy, Information Governance, Tax, and Risk functions
- Manage supplier portfolios, monitor contractual compliance, support business reviews, and resolve supplier escalations
- Analyze spend data and category portfolios to identify cost reduction opportunities, supplier rationalization, and process improvements
- Act as liaison between internal business units and external suppliers, ensuring contract terms, SLAs, and performance metrics are clearly understood
- Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship support to new hires within the Procurement function
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in strategic sourcing and category management, with demonstrated experience across either Technology or Marketing procurement categories. - University degree or college diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, Technology, or a related field
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in Technology and/or Marketing procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
- Technology procurement experience across SaaS/Cloud, hardware, managed services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and telecommunications
- Marketing procurement experience including media buying, creative agencies, sponsorships, event management, market research, and print services
- SCMP, NISCL, MCIPS or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams and influence at all organizational levels
- Analytical mindset with experience in spend analysis, risk assessment, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
