About the Role: Forecast Modelling Analyst

Day-to-day, you’ll be generating insights that feed directly into key merchandising decisions. That means conducting cause-and-effect analysis, building digestible reports, and optimizing tools that business teams actually use. You’ll be balancing a mix of quick ad-hoc requests, urgent support issues, and longer-term project implementations — so strong organizational and project management skills are essential.

You’ll also serve as a subject matter expert for forecasting processes, lending your expertise to special projects and helping ensure that forecasting systems and end-user computing tools remain operational and effective. Collaboration is central to this role — you’ll be coordinating across functions while also working independently on analytical deliverables.

Canadian Tire offers a broadband salary range of $53,000 to $88,000, with a typical hiring range between $53,000 and $70,000. Final compensation depends on experience, internal equity, and role-specific factors. Responsibilities

This role covers a broad range of analytical and operational responsibilities. You’ll be expected to produce high-quality insights, manage competing priorities, and keep forecasting systems running smoothly — all while contributing to longer-term capability-building initiatives in predictive modelling and machine learning.

• Collaborate with Merchandising, Forecasting, and Promotions teams to ensure model predictions are consistent with business intuition, explainable, and efficiently integrated into processes
• Design and build user-friendly tools and reporting that are actionable for business stakeholders
• Plan, track, and manage multiple concurrent work requests ranging from quick ad-hoc analysis to medium-scale process improvements and formal long-term projects
• Maintain and support forecasting systems, reports, and end-user computing tools; lead projects to implement new functionality including automation
• Apply traditional analytics and predictive/statistical modelling techniques to identify and quantify sales drivers, conduct what-if scenario analysis, and measure causal impact
• Act as a subject matter expert for forecasting processes, providing expertise and direction in special projects

Requirements / Skills

Canadian Tire is looking for a cross-functional analytical professional who can move comfortably between data science and business strategy. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with clear communication and a genuine interest in the retail industry.

• 2–4 years of work experience in forecasting, analytics, merchandising, or supply chain roles
• University degree in engineering, math, computer science, statistics, business, or a related field
• Programming experience with Python, SQL, or VBA
• Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Access, Excel, and database systems
• Strong analytical and data mining skills with the ability to deliver actionable insights and recommendations
• Passion for data sciences, machine learning, and visualizations; cloud experience is considered an asset
• Proven project and time management skills — planning, prioritizing, executing, and tracking
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities
