About the Role: Strategic Agency Manager
As a Strategic Agency Manager, you will serve as a key liaison between Google and its performance media agency partners. Your day-to-day work involves building and maintaining executive-level relationships, designing multi-quarter strategic plans, and executing Joint Business Plans that align commercial goals with high-growth objectives. You’ll work closely with client strategists and product specialists to ensure mutual revenue growth for Google, its agency partners, and their end customers.
This role requires the ability to operate across all levels of an organization — from media planners and buyers to agency C-suite executives. You’ll be expected to manage complex projects simultaneously, drive alignment on strategic resources, and champion digital capability development within your assigned agency portfolio. Responsibilities
The Strategic Agency Manager role centres on delivering measurable revenue outcomes while cultivating deep, long-term agency relationships. You’ll balance big-picture strategic planning with the operational execution needed to hit quarterly and annual targets — all while collaborating across Google’s internal teams.
- Deliver against ambitious annual and quarterly revenue targets by scaling product adoption across a diverse portfolio of agency clients
- Analyze growth drivers, manage risks, and design multi-quarter strategic plans to uncover and maximize client opportunities
- Develop and execute annual Joint Business Plans anchored in high-growth goals, strategic value partnerships, and commercial agreements
- Pursue long-term strategic goals for new and existing business while consistently prioritizing exceptional sales experiences for partners
- Strengthen executive and operational relationships across all levels, from agency C-suite leaders to media planners and buyers
- Drive alignment on strategic resources to fuel growth enablement initiatives in collaboration with client strategists and product specialists
- Develop digital capabilities within assigned agencies to enable sustainable business growth for all parties
Requirements / Skills
Google is looking for a seasoned professional who brings both strategic vision and executional discipline to partner-facing work. The right candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced sales environment, managing complex portfolios autonomously, and influencing stakeholders at the highest levels.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required
- 7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking
- C-level relationship experience with a track record of working cross-functionally across all levels of management
- Partnership and agreement management experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
- Advanced sales techniques including effective questioning, objection handling, competitive selling, and compelling storytelling
- Knowledge of agency business models, customer strategies, and new business acquisition tactics is a strong asset
- Online marketing strategy expertise with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to build alignment across diverse internal and external teams
