Member interaction is also part of the job, whether that means helping someone load a large item into their cart or directing them to the right product.

Responsibilities

The Stocker role at Costco Kitchener covers a broad range of daily warehouse tasks. From managing product placement to ensuring member satisfaction, here’s what you can expect on a typical shift:

• Stock and straighten merchandise throughout the warehouse, maintaining high product levels on shelves
• Communicate with supervisors to determine merchandising plans and priorities, and prepare lists for forklift drivers
• Operate equipment including a manual pallet jack, box knife, marking gun, shrink-wrap machine, cardboard bailer, and trash compactor
• Set up and modify display models, including assembly and safety adjustments such as bolting heavy equipment or taping blade edges
• Create and verify computer-generated product signage, and mark unmarked product with the appropriate item number
• Maintain a clean sales floor by pulling cardboard, removing empty pallets, sweeping debris, and clearing slip-sheets
• Provide prompt member service, including helping load large items, directing members to products, and sharing product availability knowledge
• Assist in other warehouse areas as needed to support overall operations

Requirements / Skills

Costco keeps the entry bar accessible for this role — no prior experience or certifications are required. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, and ready to work as part of a team in a fast-moving warehouse environment.

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred, though not mandatory
• Physical fitness to handle moving pallets, stacking product, and staying on your feet throughout your shift
• Attention to detail when it comes to merchandising standards, signage accuracy, and product organization
• Team communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and fellow staff effectively
• Member-focused attitude with a willingness to assist customers when needed
• French language ability (oral and written) is required for candidates applying to Quebec locations — not applicable for Kitchener
