About the Role: Staff Site Reliability Engineer, Energy Software

As a Staff SRE on the Energy IoT team, you’ll be responsible for building, enhancing, and scaling the infrastructure that underpins real-time monitoring, optimization, and control systems for Tesla’s energy products. You’ll work hands-on with a broad technology stack including Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Prometheus, Helm, GitHub Actions, PostgreSQL, CloudNativePG, Kafka, InfluxDB, Scala, and Rust.

Beyond the technical work, this role carries a leadership dimension. You’ll provide guidance on system architecture and security best practices, review complex code and technical documentation, and drive key initiatives from concept to completion. Requirements / Skills

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant industry experience in a site reliability or infrastructure role
• Distributed systems expertise, including experience developing, scaling, and maintaining infrastructure for IoT applications
• Technical proficiency across many of the following: Linux, Networking, Kubernetes, on-premises data centres, AWS, Terraform, Prometheus, Helm, GitHub Actions, PostgreSQL, and Kafka
• Strong understanding of system design principles, with focus on availability, reliability, scalability, and security
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to break down complex topics
• Analytical and problem-solving ability, including the capacity to evaluate trade-offs and make well-reasoned decisions under uncertainty
• Collaborative mindset with a genuine willingness to learn, mentor, and engage in open technical discussions
