Sr Vehicle Technician (PUD) – FedEx – Barrie, ON

FedEx is hiring a Senior Vehicle Technician (PUD) at their Barrie, Ontario facility. As a Senior Vehicle Technician, you’ll be performing timely, quality, and cost-effective maintenance on Federal Express’s vehicle fleet and ground support equipment. This includes everything from preventative maintenance and component repairs to complex electronic troubleshooting and accurate documentation. You’ll be working with gasoline, diesel, and hydraulically powered equipment, using professional-grade diagnostic tools and software.

This position requires both technical precision and physical capability — you’ll be lifting and manoeuvring heavy vehicle components (up to 70 lbs unassisted, and beyond with mechanical assistance). Responsibilities

Day-to-day, you’ll be keeping FedEx’s delivery fleet in top operational condition. Your work directly supports on-time deliveries across the region, making the maintenance and reliability of each vehicle a critical part of FedEx’s service promise to customers.

• Perform preventative maintenance on FedEx’s vehicle fleet and ground support equipment to keep assets in safe, working order
• Troubleshoot and repair gasoline, diesel, and hydraulically powered vehicles using diagnostic testing equipment, gauges, and tools
• Utilize diagnostic software such as JPRO® Professional, Allison DOC® Fleets, Cummins Insite Professional, Ford IDS w/VCM-2, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, and Mercedes-Benz systems
• Perform vehicle modifications as required and maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance and repair work completed
• Apply welding skills when needed, following all applicable safety procedures
• Lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components up to 70 lbs independently, and heavier components using appropriate mechanical assistance
• Complete required training and maintain all annual accreditations and recurrence certifications as required by FedEx policy

Requirements / Skills

FedEx is looking for a certified, experienced fleet technician who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in automotive or truck maintenance, solid diagnostic abilities, and a safety-first mindset. Experience with commercial fleets and professional diagnostic software will set your application apart.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician certification or licence required
• Valid Ontario G licence with a clean driving record (no more than two violations or accidents in the past 24 months)
• Minimum three (3) years of fleet experience; fleet maintenance experience is a strong asset
• Electronic troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic equipment
• Basic knowledge of welding and safety procedures
• Own a complete set of automotive or truck hand tools, including metric sizes and storage cabinets
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; experience with diagnostic software preferred
