About the Role: Seasonal Courier

As a Seasonal Courier with FedEx Canada, your primary focus will be the efficient and safe delivery and pick-up of packages along an assigned route. You’ll inspect shipments for compliance with FedEx Canada’s features of service, load your van strategically for optimal route efficiency, and ensure both customer and company property — including vehicles and equipment — are properly secured at all times.

Beyond driving, you’ll operate computerised tracking and dispatch systems, answer customer questions about FedEx services (including Canada, U.S., and international shipping requirements), and proactively inform the sales team of any leads or market changes you come across. Accuracy in paperwork, labelling, and stop reporting is essential to keeping operations running smoothly. Depending on location and workload, you may also assist with aircraft or container loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning.

Responsibilities

Working as a Seasonal Courier at FedEx means being the face of the company on the road every day. Your responsibilities span safe and efficient driving, precise package handling, customer interaction, and accurate documentation — all of which are critical to maintaining FedEx’s reputation for reliable service.

  • Deliver and pick up packages along an assigned route in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner
  • Inspect shipments to confirm they conform to FedEx Canada’s features of service, including proper labelling and paperwork
  • Load the van and plan the route in accordance with Courier Best Practices and operating procedures for maximum efficiency
  • Operate computerised tracking and dispatch systems, ensuring correct data entry at every stage
  • Secure all property including packages, equipment, and vehicles belonging to FedEx and its customers
  • Report stop counts and missorts accurately and in a timely manner
  • Inform customers about FedEx services, Canada/U.S./international shipping requirements, and supply them with adequate shipping materials
  • Identify sales leads from existing customers and report them to the sales department
  • Assist with aircraft or container loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning as required by location and workload
  • Operate the vehicle safely in full compliance with all government regulations and company procedures

Requirements / Skills

FedEx is looking for candidates who are customer-focused, reliable, and comfortable working independently on the road. A clean driving record is essential, and a genuine passion for customer service will set you apart. No prior courier experience is required — FedEx will provide the training you need to succeed.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required as minimum education
  • Valid driver’s licence (e.g., Class 5, G, or 1 [AZ]) with two or fewer violations and/or accidents in the past 24 months
  • No prior experience required — though 1 year of customer service experience is preferred
  • Customer orientation and the ability to represent FedEx in a professional, courteous manner
  • Ability to operate in a Windows PC environment and use computerised tracking and dispatch systems
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts based on business needs, including mandatory Saturdays and Sundays
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required for candidates residing in the province of Québec
