About the Role: Seasonal Package Handler Non-Driver
As a Seasonal Package Handler, your primary responsibility is to support the movement of freight through the facility. This means physically loading and unloading packages, scanning shipments, and sorting freight to ensure it reaches the right destination efficiently. It’s active, physical work that keeps things moving from the moment your shift starts.
You’ll be expected to follow FedEx Canada operations standards and adhere to Canadian Customs regulations. ⏱️ Schedule: AM shifts starting 4:30 AM (end 8:00–9:00 AM); PM shifts 4:30 PM–7:30 PM. Availability Mon–Sun required (2 days off set by management).
Responsibilities
Day-to-day, Seasonal Package Handlers are the backbone of FedEx’s ground operations.
- Load and unload freight from vehicles and facility docks
- Sort freight within the facility according to destination and routing requirements
- Lift packages up to 70 lbs independently, and manoeuvre items up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment
- Complete all required training, including basic and recurrency training as assigned
- Maintain compliance with FedEx Canada operations standards and Canadian Customs regulations
- Work varying shifts based on operational business needs, including both AM and PM schedules
Requirements / Skills
You don’t need years of experience in logistics — but you do need to show up ready to work and willing to follow process.
- High School Diploma or GED — preferred but not mandatory
- Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with proper equipment
- Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations — considered an asset
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Availability Monday through Sunday with flexibility for AM or PM shift assignments
- Ability to work in a PC Windows environment and complete mandatory testing and training
- Bilingualism (French and English) required for candidates residing in the province of Quebec
