About the Role: Specialist, Vendor Maintenance

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for setting up new vendors and maintaining existing vendor profiles within PeopleSoft, Coupa, and IMS. You’ll analyze and reconcile data across key vendor systems, review incorporation and financial documents for compliance, and work closely with cross-functional finance teams to resolve errors and support the invoice payment process.

This role requires a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance. You’ll ensure that all vendor maintenance activities are completed on time and in line with departmental policies, escalating high-risk setups with clear recommendations for supervisor review. Responsibilities

The Specialist, Vendor Maintenance plays a key role in ensuring Canadian Tire’s accounts payable operations run efficiently and compliantly. You’ll manage vendor data across multiple systems, support supplier onboarding, and collaborate with finance teams to keep processes on track and free from errors.

  • Perform new vendor setups and updates to existing vendor profiles within PeopleSoft, Coupa, and IMS
  • Analyze and reconcile data across key vendor systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Review vendor incorporation and financial documents to ensure compliance with CTC’s internal acceptance policies
  • Escalate high-risk vendor setups with a summary recommendation to supervisors for review and approval
  • Communicate revised requirements with vendors and follow through on the setup process to ensure a positive onboarding experience
  • Troubleshoot invoice issues within the Coupa Invoicing system and develop ongoing solutions for recurring problems
  • Run and analyze PeopleSoft reports, including detailed vendor error reports, and recommend corrective actions
  • Support CTC business users and external vendors using the Coupa Invoicing platform
  • Assess and implement the impact of business contracts, regulatory changes, and accounting updates on existing processes and controls

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in finance or accounting, with hands-on experience in a medium to large organization. Canadian Tire values people who can manage competing priorities, think analytically, and build strong relationships across business units.

  • University degree or college diploma in Business, Finance/Accounting, or a related discipline
  • 1–2 years of experience at a Financial Analyst or Accountant level within a medium or large company

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting system is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with internal and external audit processes and financial controls
