About the Role: Solutions Architect

Reporting to the Manager, Solution Architect, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end solution architecture across key retail domains. Your work will involve defining architecture across enterprise systems — from Order Management and Warehouse Management to Transportation Management, Merchandising, POS, and Digital Commerce. You’ll produce detailed architecture artifacts including solution diagrams, component diagrams, API specifications, and integration designs that guide delivery teams through implementation.

Beyond technical design, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, helping align outcomes between strategy and execution. You’ll partner closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions are built as designed, contribute to technology roadmaps, evaluate vendor platforms and tools, and drive the adoption of cloud, Azure, and event-driven architectures across the organization. Adherence to Enterprise Architecture standards is a core part of the mandate.

The broadband salary range for this role is $90,000 to $131,000 per annum, with final compensation determined by experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Responsibilities

As a Solutions Architect at Canadian Tire, your day-to-day work will span strategic design and active delivery support. You’ll be expected to lead architecture decisions across multiple retail technology domains while ensuring that the teams implementing those solutions stay aligned with standards and business goals.

Requirements / Skills

This role calls for a seasoned technology leader with deep retail industry experience and a strong command of enterprise architecture principles.   • 8+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or related technology leadership roles
  • Proven track record designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions within the retail industry
  • Strong domain knowledge across Supply Chain (forecasting, replenishment, inventory, fulfillment), Merchandising (assortment, pricing, promotions), and Retail (POS, omnichannel)
  • Deep expertise in cloud-driven solutions, particularly Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS)
  • Experience designing API-led architectures, event-driven architectures, microservices-based solutions, and enterprise integration patterns
  • Proficiency in creating architecture artifacts: solution diagrams, logical and component diagrams, system integration designs, and API/interface specifications
  • Knowledge of enterprise retail platforms including Order Management, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, Merchandising Management, and Digital Commerce systems
