As a Solution Architect on the Google Cloud Platform team, you’ll serve as a primary technical partner and trusted advisor to customers, working shoulder-to-shoulder with sales teams to drive real outcomes. From running complex demos and proof-of-concepts to designing cross-pillar cloud solutions, this role is as hands-on as it is strategic.

The Google Cloud Platform team helps organizations of all sizes — businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies — transform their operations using cloud technology. In this role, you’ll be at the centre of that transformation, partnering with both technical and executive stakeholders to understand their most pressing challenges and design solutions that address them head-on.
You’ll lead technical engagements through the full solution phase, facilitate smooth post-sales transitions, and maintain visibility into delivery progress across cross-functional teams. Whether you’re supporting migrations, ramp phases, or implementation efforts, your expertise will be the thread that keeps everything aligned and moving forward.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day, this role blends technical architecture, sales enablement, and customer engagement into one. You’ll be directly responsible for shaping how customers adopt and scale Google Cloud technology, which means your work has a direct impact on business outcomes — for your clients and for Google.
- Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy, participating in planning and supporting targeted sales motions
- Combine sales, programming, and solutions architecture expertise to demonstrate the value of Google Cloud Platform through complex demos, pilots, and in-depth workshops
- Design cross-pillar cloud solutions, drive technical wins, and define initial delivery plans for customers throughout the solution phase
- Lead the technical engagement and serve as the primary liaison between customer stakeholders and Google Cloud teams
- Facilitate post-sales transitions by supporting pricing activities and handing off the final delivery plan to implementation teams
- Maintain awareness of delivery plan progress, providing ongoing support to cross-functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration, or implementation phases
- Present practical, persuasive solutions to both technical and executive audiences
Requirements / Skills
Google is looking for a candidate who brings both deep technical knowledge and the ability to communicate complex concepts to a range of stakeholders. You should be equally comfortable debugging a system design issue and presenting a cloud migration roadmap to a C-suite audience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field
- 10+ years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
- Hands-on experience with cloud development, on-premise development, virtualization, or containerization platforms
- Demonstrated experience engaging with technical stakeholders and executive leaders, including presentations and workshops
- Proficiency in programming languages, systems design, debugging, prototyping, and running customer demos
- Preferred: experience with Infrastructure Modernization, Application Modernization, Data Analytics, Cloud AI, Networking, Migrations, or Security
- Preferred: experience migrating applications and services to cloud platforms and driving the full business cycle
- Preferred: familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, and penetration testing
