Responsibilities

Working in the Service Deli means wearing many hats throughout the day. From slicing vegetables and assembling party trays to operating commercial ovens and keeping meticulous production records, each task contributes to the high-quality standards Costco members expect.

  • Prepare and assemble meals, salads, party trays, take-and-bake pizzas, and other deli items following Costco’s formulas and presentation diagrams
  • Cook and handle rotisserie chickens, ribs, and entrees using commercial and rotisserie ovens
  • Package and label products using automated wrapping machines, ensuring accurate weights and proper labelling
  • Stock and rotate the display case to maintain freshness and visual appeal
  • Monitor product quality and department consistency, adhering to health codes including sanitation, temperature controls, and pull dates
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment and the deli area thoroughly, including disassembling machinery and using a 3-compartment or power soak sink
  • Complete daily documentation including production forms, time and temperature records, and sanitation checklists
  • Provide courteous member service at all times and assist in other areas of the department or warehouse as required
