About the Role: Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant

As an Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant, your primary focus is delivering excellent service to Costco members while maintaining a well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing department. You’ll answer questions, walk members through product features, and assist with loading merchandise onto carts. Beyond customer interaction, you’ll take an active role in merchandising, product displays, signage accuracy, and general floor maintenance.

Teamwork is central to this position. You’ll communicate regularly with the Area Manager regarding inventory levels, pricing, promotions, and product delivery. You’ll also collaborate with forklift drivers during merchandise moves and assist in other areas of the warehouse when needed. Responsibilities

• Follow merchandising standards — set up, clean, and maintain product displays, align and face product to the front, and stock shelves to keep levels high
• Review and approve member returns, and verify the accuracy of product signage and markings
• Participate in merchandise moves, working alongside forklift drivers to coordinate stocking activities
• Maintain a clean, safe department — organize the security item lock-up, clear debris from the sales floor, and sweep as needed
• Support other departments within the warehouse as required

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for candidates who are comfortable engaging with the public and who have a genuine interest in consumer electronics and major appliances. Prior sales experience is an asset, and the ability to quickly absorb product knowledge is key to success in this role.

• High School Diploma or GED — preferred but not mandatory
• Sales experience — candidates with a background in retail sales will be given preference
• Must pass the Costco PC/Electronics knowledge test as part of the hiring process
• Bilingualism (French and English) — mandatory for this Gatineau, QC location; candidates must be able to communicate in French both orally and in writing
• Customer service skills — a friendly, helpful demeanour and the ability to clearly explain product features to members of all backgrounds
• Physical capability — the role involves stocking shelves, participating in merchandise moves, and assisting members with loading product
