About the Role: Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Assistant at Costco’s Gatineau Optical Lab, your primary focus will be ensuring all areas of the facility meet company cleanliness and safety standards. Responsibilities

• Check the daily schedule to prioritize and complete routine maintenance tasks

• Empty trash from designated areas throughout the lab and operate trash and cardboard compactors
• Respond promptly to spills to maintain a safe working environment
• Maintain lighting by cleaning light fixtures regularly, changing bulbs, and washing windows, upper walls, and ceilings
• Assist with grounds maintenance including blowing leaves, picking up litter, roof checks, snow and ice removal, painting, and concrete floor repairs
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies; receive and place merchandise in the appropriate department
• Operate the internal maintenance system (Interal) and manage store inventory
• Perform internal and external purchases as required
• Follow all Optical Lab safety, security, and procedural standards at all times
• Provide prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for a dependable candidate with solid janitorial experience and the mechanical aptitude to handle light facility maintenance.
