Canadian Tire’s In-House Content & Creative team is on the lookout for a Senior Copywriter & Editor to help define and champion the brand’s voice across retail and ecommerce channels. Based in Toronto, ON, this is a role for someone who genuinely loves the craft — someone who obsesses over the right word, understands how brand systems scale, and can lead editorial work from brief to final execution with both precision and pace.
This isn’t just a writing role — it’s a blend of hands-on copywriting and editorial leadership. You’ll be working alongside writers, designers, marketers, and channel teams, shaping everything from brand campaigns to ecommerce copy, emails, web pages, and digital ads. You’ll also be working with AI-enabled tools as part of a modern, efficient creative workflow.
About the Role: Senior Copywriter & Editor
Reporting to the Manager, Creative Copy & Content, you’ll serve as a brand steward for Canadian Tire’s Tone of Voice, ensuring every touchpoint — from a product page to a campaign headline — is clear, consistent, and unmistakably on brand. With over 100 assets moving through the pipeline each week, you’ll need to manage priorities without sacrificing quality, and communicate editorial decisions with confidence and clarity to stakeholders at all levels.
This role is equally about mentorship and editorial governance. You’ll provide constructive feedback that helps writers grow, champion best practices across the team, and help integrate AI tools into copy workflows — including building prompts and agents for templated ad copy. A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset is essential in this fast-paced, high-volume environment.
