About the Role: Senior AI/ML Architect

As a Senior AI/ML Consultant within AWS Professional Services, your core mandate is to understand client challenges and translate them into scalable, production-grade solutions. You’ll conduct exploratory data analysis, design and validate ML and GenAI architectures, and deploy those solutions on cloud infrastructure. You’ll work with tools like Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon AgentCore, as well as frameworks such as PyTorch, Transformers, and Strands-Agents.

This role also requires the ability to obtain a Canadian federal security clearance (Secret or Top Secret), as you’ll be supporting sensitive public sector projects. Bilingualism in French and English is required for candidates in Quebec, given the global and cross-provincial nature of the work.

Responsibilities

As a Senior AI/ML Architect, your day-to-day work centres on guiding public sector clients through every stage of their ML and GenAI journey — from problem scoping to production deployment. You’ll be expected to take ownership of complex technical challenges and deliver outcomes that drive real innovation for government and public organisations.

  • Understand and structure customer business challenges and needs, formalising them as clear business and technical requirements
  • Identify and select the most relevant AI/ML services and algorithms to address each client’s specific use case
  • Design and validate end-to-end ML and GenAI architectures that integrate necessary AWS services to achieve client goals
  • Support clients through the full project lifecycle — from exploratory data analysis to solution validation and production deployment
  • Collaborate closely with ML Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Application Developers to deliver production-ready solutions
  • Provide training to client teams to build internal capability and ensure long-term success
  • Utilise a broad toolkit including Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon AgentCore, Git, Docker, PyTorch, Transformers, and Strands-Agents

Requirements / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related field

  • Experience with AWS or cloud technologies is required
  • Ability to obtain Canadian federal security clearance (Secret or Top Secret level)
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required for the Quebec location
  • Experience consulting with customers on AI and GenAI needs, from user departments to executives, is considered a strong asset
  • MLOps experience — building and maintaining systems that bring models to production — is highly valued
  • Knowledge of data governance, data visualisation, and reporting practices is an asset
