Senior AI/ML Architect – Amazon Web Services – Canada
Location: Ottawa, ON | Company: Amazon
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior AI/ML Architect to join its Public Sector Professional Services team in Canada. This is a senior-level consulting role where you’ll work directly with Canadian government and public sector clients to design, build, and deploy machine learning and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions that solve real-world operational and business challenges. If you’ve spent years building ML systems and want to apply that expertise at scale across the public sector, this role puts you at the forefront of cloud-based AI innovation.
Day to day, you’ll be partnering with clients to understand their unique challenges, translating those into concrete technical architectures, and delivering production-ready solutions using AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, and Amazon AgentCore. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with ML Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Application Developers, guiding projects from exploratory data analysis all the way through to deployment and client training.
About the Role: Senior AI/ML Architect
As a Senior AI/ML Consultant within AWS Professional Services, your primary focus is understanding client business problems, structuring those problems as formal requirements, and designing ML and GenAI solutions that address them using the right AWS services and algorithms. You’ll work across the full project lifecycle — from initial discovery and data analysis through to solution validation and production deployment — making sure the solutions you deliver are not just technically sound but genuinely impactful for public sector clients across Canada.
This role also carries a mentorship and knowledge-sharing dimension. You’ll be working alongside teammates from across AWS, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Candidates for positions based in Quebec must be fluent in both French and English, given the global and cross-provincial scope of the role.
