FedEx is hiring a Seasonal Courier at its Ottawa, Ontario location on Sheffield Road. This is a temporary, part-time position of up to 12 weeks, designed to support peak business and operational demands. About the Role: Seasonal Courier-1

As a Seasonal Courier with Federal Express Corporation Canada, your primary focus is ensuring safe, efficient, and courteous package delivery and pick-up on your assigned route. You’ll represent FedEx in a professional manner, maintain a clean appearance consistent with the company’s image, and ensure that all shipments conform to FedEx Canada’s features of service. Accurate selection and inspection of packages, proper labelling checks, and timely reporting of stop counts and missorts are all part of the job.

You’ll also be expected to follow Courier Best Practices, load your van, plan your route efficiently, and ensure the proper security of FedEx and customer property at all times. Operating computerized tracking and dispatch systems correctly, answering customer questions about domestic and international shipping requirements, and flagging potential sales leads to the sales department are additional responsibilities that come with the role. Safety compliance with all government regulations and company procedures is non-negotiable.

Benefits and Salary

Responsibilities

As a Seasonal Courier, your daily work revolves around safe and efficient package delivery, maintaining professional customer interactions, and adhering to FedEx’s operational standards. Each responsibility below plays a direct role in keeping shipments moving and customers satisfied.

• Deliver and pick up packages on an assigned route in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner while representing FedEx professionally
• Inspect and select assigned packages accurately, report stop counts and missorts in a timely fashion
• Plan and load your van following Courier Best Practices and route efficiency guidelines, ensuring proper security of all FedEx and customer property
• Verify shipments for conformance to FedEx Canada features of service, check labelling, and ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete
• Operate computerized tracking and dispatch systems, inputting correct information for every shipment
• Respond to customer inquiries about FedEx Canada’s services, including Canadian, U.S., and international shipping requirements
• Identify sales leads from current customers and inform the sales department of any market changes or opportunities
• Comply with all government regulations and company procedures when operating your vehicle safely and efficiently
• Assist with aircraft and/or container loading/unloading, sorting, and scanning of packages as required by location and workload

Requirements / Skills

FedEx is looking for candidates who are reliable, customer-focused, and comfortable operating a vehicle in an urban delivery environment. No prior courier experience is required, though a background in customer service is considered an asset. All candidates must meet the driving requirements outlined below.

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience: No experience required; 1 year of customer service experience is preferred
• Valid driver’s licence (e.g., Class 5, G, or 1 [AZ]) with a driving record showing two or fewer violations and/or accidents in the past 24 months
• Customer orientation and a professional, courteous manner when representing FedEx in the field
• Ability to operate in a PC Windows environment and complete any mandatory training or recurrence requirements
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required for candidates residing in the province of Quebec
• Flexibility to work varying shifts based on business needs
