Located at 100 Billy Bishop Way in Toronto, Costco‘s pharmacy team is looking for a motivated Pharmacy Student to join their operations. This is a hands-on role that puts your classroom learning to work in a real community pharmacy setting, under the direct guidance of licensed pharmacists.
Day to day, you’ll be involved in everything from prescription order entry and medication dispensing to supporting Health Promotion Clinics and medication review services. It’s a well-rounded position that builds both your technical pharmacy skills and your patient-facing communication abilities.
About the Role: Pharmacy Student
Working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you’ll assist with core pharmacy functions including drug distribution, prescription packaging, and compounding. You’ll also play a role in expanded scope initiatives, helping to recruit and support patients for medication reviews and health clinics. Patient interaction is a key part of the job — you’ll be answering member questions, processing transactions, and providing guidance on OTC products within your scope of practice.
Compliance and safety are central to this role. You’ll be expected to uphold provincial regulations, maintain strict patient confidentiality, and follow all of Costco Pharmacy’s policies and procedures at all times. Strong teamwork and communication are essential, as you’ll be collaborating closely with pharmacists and pharmacy staff throughout every shift.

Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Student at Costco, your day-to-day work spans both technical pharmacy tasks and direct patient interaction. Each responsibility is carried out under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, giving you a safe and structured environment to develop your clinical competencies.
- Answer and triage member phone calls and direct patients to the appropriate products or services
- Input prescriptions into the pharmacy software system accurately and efficiently by collecting patient information
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving stock bottles, counting medications, and labelling under pharmacist supervision
- Alert the pharmacist when drug interactions or patient concerns arise that require immediate attention
- Process transactions at the counter and retrieve prescriptions while providing prompt, courteous patient service
- Communicate with patients regarding OTC products and refer to the pharmacist when appropriate
- Recruit eligible patients for the medication review program and assist the pharmacist in delivering those services
- Support Health Promotion Clinics by working with the pharmacist to develop recruitment and implementation plans
- Stock and organize drugs, supplies, and OTC merchandise while keeping the pharmacy clean and orderly
- Comply with provincial regulations regarding the pharmacy student role and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements / Skills

- Enrolled in an approved pharmacy program — current enrolment is a firm requirement
- Registered with the respective College as a pharmacy student in Ontario
