Costco’s pharmacy team in Brampton, Ontario is looking for a Pharmacy Student to join their location at 100 Biscayne Crescent. This is a hands-on role that puts your pharmaceutical training to work in a real-world community setting, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in everything from prescription order entry and medication dispensing to supporting Health Promotion Clinics and medication review services. It’s a well-rounded placement that bridges classroom knowledge with patient-facing pharmacy practice.
About the Role: Pharmacy Student
Working under the constant supervision of a pharmacist, you’ll assist with drug distribution, prescription processing, packaging, and compounding. You’ll also play a role in supporting expanded scope initiatives — helping recruit eligible patients for medication review programs and contributing to the planning and execution of Health Promotion Clinics. Patient counselling on both prescription and OTC products is part of the scope, within the limits of your clinical knowledge base and provincial regulations.
This role requires a strong commitment to patient confidentiality, safety and security procedures, and compliance with Ontario’s provincial regulations governing pharmacy students. You’ll work closely with the pharmacy team to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workspace while delivering prompt, courteous service at every interaction.

Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Student at Costco Brampton, your work will span prescription processing, patient support, and clinic coordination — all under pharmacist supervision. These responsibilities are designed to build practical competency while ensuring safe, high-quality patient care at every step.
- Answer and triage member phone calls and direct patients to product locations efficiently
- Collect patient information and accurately input prescriptions into the pharmacy software system under pharmacist supervision
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving stock bottles, counting medications, and labelling — following all safety and security procedures
- Alert the pharmacist when necessary, such as in cases of drug interactions or patient concerns
- Assist patients at the counter, retrieve prescriptions, and process register transactions with prompt and courteous service
- Communicate with patients regarding OTC products and refer to the pharmacist when appropriate
- Provide prescription counselling education under pharmacist direction, depending on competency level and provincial regulation
- Identify and recruit patients eligible for the medication review program and assist the pharmacist with these services
- Support Health Promotion Clinics by working with the pharmacist to develop and implement recruitment and operational plans
- Maintain the pharmacy by stocking drugs, supplies, and OTC merchandise and keeping the workspace clean and organized
Requirements / Skills
Costco is looking for a pharmacy student who is enrolled in a recognized program and registered with their provincial College. The ideal candidate brings solid communication skills, a patient-first mindset, and the ability to perform accurately in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with community pharmacy workflows is a definite asset.
