Costco’s Brampton location at 100 Biscayne Crescent is looking for a Certified Pharmacy Clerk to join their pharmacy team. Working alongside the Pharmacist, you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping the pharmacy running smoothly — from filling and dispensing prescriptions to processing transactions, managing inventory, and delivering prompt and courteous service to every member who walks through the door.

As a Certified Pharmacy Clerk at Costco Brampton, your day-to-day will involve supporting the pharmacist at every step of the prescription process. You’ll assist patients at the counter, retrieve and process prescriptions, handle register transactions, and maintain accurate patient records and inventory using a computerized system — all while adhering to Ontario’s provincial pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities
As a Certified Pharmacy Clerk, you’ll be central to the daily operations of the pharmacy department. From supporting the pharmacist with prescription fulfilment to handling member transactions and maintaining stock, every task you carry out contributes to a safe and efficient pharmacy experience.
- Assist patients at the counter, receive written prescriptions for the Pharmacist, and retrieve filled prescriptions
- Process register transactions including receiving payment, making change, and handling cheques, credit, and debit charges
- Update patient profiles and enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer system as permitted by Ontario provincial regulations
- Preserve patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Assist the Pharmacist in filling prescriptions — counting, pouring, restocking, labelling, and pricing under direct supervision
- Prepare third-party insurance claims, process invoices, and make accounting entries using the computerized system
- Order, receive, tag, and stock prescription drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter products following storage standards and the department merchandising plan
- Create product signs and conduct over-the-counter roaming within the department
- Maintain cleanliness of the department through sweeping, mopping, wiping, dusting, emptying trash, and operating the trash compactor and cardboard bailer
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in pharmacy practice and brings both technical knowledge and strong member service skills to the table. Costco gives preference to those with current, hands-on pharmacy experience and a professional attitude.
- Pharmacy Diploma from a Community College or completion of the Costco Pharmacy Clerk certification program
- Provincial certification as required (applicable to Ontario)
- Current pharmacy experience preferred — candidates with recent experience will be given priority
- Computer skills to navigate pharmacy management and inventory systems
- Math skills for accurate transaction processing and inventory management
- Member service skills to provide prompt, courteous assistance to pharmacy patients
