Job Summary & Tips for Applying
Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Pharmacist position at Costco Pharmacy in Edmonton covers full-scope dispensing, clinical services and team oversight in a retail pharmacy setting. A candidate’s resume should put their provincial pharmacist licence in good standing and any experience with medication therapy management or medication reviews at the top, since those are the most clinically demanding duties listed.
Resume & Application Tips: List your Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy clearly, along with your licence number and the province of registration. If you have experience conducting medication reconciliation, health and wellness clinics or administering injections, describe those with specifics: for example, “Conducted 30+ MedsChecks per month and administered influenza vaccines to over 200 patients in one season.” Have your continuing education records ready, as the posting asks that certifications be kept in good standing.
Interview Preparation: Be ready to walk through a case where you identified a drug interaction or therapeutic appropriateness concern and how you resolved it with a prescriber, since that duty is central to the role. Prepare an example of acting in a supervisory capacity over interns or technicians, as the Pharmacist-In-Charge responsibility is explicitly listed. It would also be worth asking what the typical dispensary volume is and how shifts are structured, since the posting does not state hours or schedule.
