About the Role: Overnight Assistant Manager

As an Overnight Assistant Manager, you’ll be a key member of the Store Management Team, contributing to profitable sales, sound budget management, and strong execution of store operations. You’ll analyze sales and financial reports, respond to market trends, and ensure your team has the direction they need to succeed. The role is also cross-trained across all areas of the store, so versatility and adaptability are essential.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining compliance with Walmart’s policies and procedures, including safety controls, quality assurance, and asset protection standards. Building relationships — with associates, customers, and community stakeholders — is a core part of the job. You’ll also handle cash controls potentially up to $250,000 per day, making integrity and attention to detail non-negotiable.

Benefits and Salary

The salary range for this position is $56,100.00 to $66,642.50, with pay determined based on relevant experience. Responsibilities

The Overnight Assistant Manager at Walmart plays a hands-on leadership role that spans sales strategy, team development, customer service, and operational compliance. Each responsibility is designed to support a high-performing store environment and ensure associates are guided, recognized, and held to clear standards.

• Drive profitable sales by achieving sales and profit goals, managing budgets, and analyzing financial and market data to respond to changes proactively
• Create and execute operational plans by working with the management team to prioritize, delegate, and provide clear direction to managers and associates
• Ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, and adherence to company standards and new program rollouts
• Monitor asset protection and safety by overseeing compliance with Walmart policies, safety controls, and quality assurance standards, including Total Loss and general controls
• Serve customers as a brand ambassador by greeting shoppers, gathering feedback, and resolving complaints and issues in line with company guidelines
• Support community initiatives by participating in local events, developing relationships with community groups, and supporting company-sponsored sustainability programs
• Lead and develop associates by conducting store meetings, communicating operational direction, recognizing accomplishments, and identifying high-potential team members for growth
• Provide performance feedback through timely, honest, and respectful coaching, corrective action, and accountability in line with company values
• Manage cash controls in compliance with all company standards, handling up to $250,000 per day, along with all regulated merchandise categories
