About the Role: Optical Student
As an Optical Student at Costco Halifax, your primary focus will be delivering attentive, courteous service to members browsing the optical department. Responsibilities
Working in the Costco Optical department means balancing member-focused service with important operational tasks. From helping someone choose the right frames to keeping the department running smoothly, every responsibility contributes to the overall member experience and department quality standards.
- Assist members in selecting eyeglass frames and lens options, providing prompt and courteous service throughout the process
- Process transactions accurately by ringing up orders, accepting payment, making change, and handling cheques, credit, and debit charges according to proper procedures
- Fit and adjust eyeglasses using a frame warmer and manual adjustments, where permitted by provincial law and under the supervision of a licensed Optician
- Order supplies and merchandise by entering requests into the computer system and following established safety and security procedures
- Stock merchandise and supplies while adhering to department standards for production, record keeping, merchandising, and product storage
- Maintain cleanliness of the department through spraying, wiping, mopping, emptying trash, and operating the trash compactor and cardboard bailer
- Support warehouse operations by assisting in other departments as needed
Requirements / Skills
