Costco’s Halifax warehouse on Chain Lake Drive is looking for a skilled Meat Cutter to join their meat department team. This is a hands-on role that requires real meat cutting experience, a strong attention to food safety, and the ability to keep up with a busy, production-focused environment.
Day to day, you’ll be working with band saws, knives, grinders, and slicers to prepare and present fresh meat products to Costco’s exacting standards. Beyond the cutting itself, this role covers everything from rotating stock and managing cooler inventory to maintaining a clean and compliant workspace throughout your shift.
About the Role: Meat Cutter
As a Meat Cutter at Costco Halifax, you’ll be responsible for the full cycle of meat preparation and presentation — from receiving cases from the cooler and trimming to spec, to loading trays and stocking the display case. You’ll operate a range of equipment including the band saw, tenderizing machine, roast tyer, and automatic meat slicer, and will be expected to know how to use each safely and efficiently.
Compliance with health and food safety standards is a core part of this position. You’ll follow all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), maintain proper temperatures, and perform routine equipment maintenance. Supporting fellow team members — including assisting with wrapping and seafood road shows — is also part of what keeps this department running smoothly.
