Member Service Assistant – Costco – Ottawa, ON
Location: Ottawa, ON | Company: Costco Wholesale
Costco’s Ottawa location at 1405 Blair Place is looking for a Member Service Assistant to join their warehouse team. This front-line role puts you at the heart of the member experience — from the moment shoppers walk through the door to when they head home with their haul. If you enjoy working with people, staying active, and keeping things running safely and smoothly, this could be a solid fit.
Day to day, you’ll be greeting members, verifying memberships, conducting warehouse safety and security checks, and reviewing receipts at the exit. The role keeps you on the move — both on foot inside the warehouse and occasionally using your personal vehicle for perimeter checks after hours.
About the Role: Member Service Assistant
As a Member Service Assistant, you’re one of the first and last faces members see during their visit. You’ll be stationed at the entrance greeting shoppers, verifying membership cards, offering carts, and keeping the entry and exit areas clean and organized. You’ll also use a handheld counter to track member foot traffic and report counts regularly to the front end team.
Beyond the warm welcome, this role carries real safety and security responsibilities. You’ll conduct hourly walkthroughs of the warehouse and its perimeter, identifying and addressing hazards like spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits. You’ll complete inspection forms, attend safety meetings, and work closely with the duty manager to keep the warehouse environment secure and compliant.
Benefits and Salary
This position pays $20.00 per hour. Costco is well known in Canada for offering competitive compensation and strong employee benefits, including health and dental coverage, retirement savings plans, and a positive team culture. Specific benefits details would be confirmed during the hiring process.
